Since some experts often stresses the importance of the fact that when the market moves far from the moving average it will be inclined to snap-back (to some extent). This is similar to a rubber-band effect when tension is pulling it.

Beth will announce when the market is x points away from the moving average, so you can get your “context” in order. She will say something like, “Moving average is 550 points.”
